Hi. I’m Dr. Heather Pranzarone Stratton at HPS Advanced Dental Care. We’re a dental office in Shelby Township, Michigan. And I wanted to talk a little bit today about Invisalign.
Invisalign are the clear, see-through braces that people wear on their teeth, and we at this office in Shelby Township do Invisalign on our patients. So 1 of the things I want to talk about today, a lot of people understand what Invisalign does. How it can straighten your teeth and make your smile beautiful. Which is very important.
At our office we’re also concerned about your overall health and how your dental heath affects your overall health. So one of the things I wanted to talk about was how Invisalign can actually affect your overall health. A lot of people are like “Well I thought I was just going to do this for cosmetic reasons.” One of the things like to talk to our patients about is, yeah, it will help you cosmetically and make that smile beautiful so when you walk into a room everybody will smile back at you. But one of the things it will do is when it straightens your teeth it makes your teeth much easier for you to clean at your home and it makes it easier for us to clean your teeth when you come here. Because now your teeth are no longer rotated or crowded and so because of that, it’s easier for you to brush them and floss them.
You won’t get as much plaque build up which is that sticky stuff that you get on your teeth, or as much tartar, the hard stuff that we have to clean off here at the office. And so usually when people after they have Invisalign done, they come back in six months and their gums look great. They don’t usually have as much gingivitis anymore, which is the swelling of your gum tissues where your gums can kind of bleed a little bit when you floss or you brush. And so, people are just really in general much happier with their and their smile because now they’re nice and straight and they’re healthy.
